The leading up to it
Hello everyone!!Today I was introduced to a new project about creating an opening for a film. With much research done from my past posts I’ve been able to gather some useful information and insights to help me create my final project. I’ve also learned so much from my past projects, the skills I’ve developed from learning to make my own sound for my foley project to be able to get more artistic and visual with my music project. Now using these two skills I will be able to create my opening. These set of techniques and skills are just what I need and hopefully using this project I’ll be able to sharpen them and make them better!
But before we get ahead of ourselves, we need to start coming up with ideas!
I’ve had been brainstorming topics and genres we can use, but there’s just so many of them I don’t know where to begin. However I’m leaning more towards a context/establishing opening though. It’s where you provide context and tone, theme and foreshadowing. By using wide shots of the setting your showing the audience the place of where the protagonist is and provide an insight into the characters life. I find that this approach can fit in many genres and themes, however this is just one of many ways I can approach this opening.
