Perfecting my schedule
Why hello how long has it been? Well anyways I’ve come to my realization that I suck at managing my own time and that has been shown throughout all my projects. Im an expert at delaying and procrastinating and it causes me to rush and not give a well developed project. however that all changes today. I am going to make sure that I follow this particular schedule to make sure everything goes seamlessly. In the schedule I have to figure out a way where I can blend everything well where I can incorporate times where I can record, edit, and blog post.
As you know this is a very major long-term assignment and it comes with in many different components and many different steps I have to keep a count off. There is first researching than planning than producing then editing and you know like any like out of production is being mean those are the steps it takes.
I want to start off with breaking everything down for me to give you a better understanding of each and every step of a production and how I will have to divide it into weeks dedicated to this. The due date of this project will be March 25 giving me around six weeks to plan it out.
The breakdown (not mentally)
1. Researching
- Researching genres for a film opening
- Researching film openings and analyzing within the given genre
It’s a normal thing to do to conduct research for your projects and this is for any given project. You don’t wanna start anything blindly and just jump into whatever and you’re not going to be organized or have anything planned out well. It’s important to plan things out and research beforehand. Researching though it’s very important to research the movie plot or you want to incorporate in your film. Once you re-search your movie plot and the genre that’s when you can further research other films opening within that same genre. By doing this you’re able to create concepts and ideas that were shown from other more professional film openings and gain knowledge of that certain area.
2. Planning
- coming up with a movie plot idea
-storyboarding
-choosing locations for filming
-finding cast and crew members
At this stage you can get a pen and paper because for me personally I feel like it’s way more convenient I feel more creative when I do that I’m not sure. With all the researchers you have conducted before or I have contacted before this helps me already layout what I wanna do this is my genre which is dystopian and help create a clear concept of what I want my film to be about .When it comes to storyboarding I personally like doing it on paper and this is where I lay out my ideas of how I want each scene and each concept to be incorporated and just give me a better rundown on how everything will go down if I do go on that way.as you guys know I have a partner and I will have to discuss with her on whether or not we will want to extend and find other cast members. As well as discussing our locations on where we will want to film and seeing when will that be convenient for each other.
3.Production
- filming scenes
- recording foley sounds
This is where all the filming is gonna undergo, this is that stage and it’s just based on camera angles lightning techniques and shots that are gonna really see whether or not this film will be good.there is a much more that I can library in the stage this is just one of those things where it’s pretty simple.
4. Editing
-editing the footage
-merge the credit scene with the film
-add foley sounds and music
Once again this stage of self explanatory, it’s where you edit all the footage and add the credit scene with the film too. And addition just overview all the for the sounds of music that you want to incorporate in the opening.
5.Revisons
- review and analyze the current film opening
-make edits or re-edit the film
this is a little bit more complicated. This is where you will have to review and analyze the current version of the film opening that you did. It’s very important to see that this is what you wanted some of this is the project and this is like the overall best version of it. If however you find there is some complications or some things you wanna revise you can make the edits or re-edit the film. in some cases, I however don’t want to, this is where you can be able to re-film or film extra clips for your film opening if you feel like that’s what’s missing. Personally, I wouldn’t want to be in that situation because it’s cutting too close to the deadline.
6. Critical creative reflection
-research information for the reflection
-create the reflection
- edit and review reflection if needed
Pretty self-explanatory there isn’t a much more I can elaborate on it.

This blog post is been like one of the best ways on managing my time and it’s been able to hold me more accountable for anything I do and making stay on track. By laying this down and will give me a clear layout to focus on and what I need to complete so hopefully I will be able to follow these steps and I don’t need to use extra days.
