No like actually titles
Hey there! Today I want to talk about my titles. No quite literally my movie title when discussing this I want to talk about different fonts in different ways I can go into it but I don’t know yet if I want to discuss the name of the movie. There are many different title ideas that are reflective of my movie choice I however still haven’t quite decided nor has my partner and I’ve come to a agreement.
Title ideas
o Fates Deception
There’s just something about this that really reflects everything about what my film is. clearly highlights the way of the betrayal and the false sense of hope that I want my protagonist to feel when they realize that their power or the sense of having a power is actually quite evil.
o The Dark Gift
Once again this really reflects on what the film is going to be about clearly. It emphasizes how the gift is very dark and how this is just quite a very bad thing to have and I don’t know it’s a great way to foreshadow too.
o Forsaken Destiny
This one I’m quite not sure about whether or not it’s my top five but it’s definitely one of the top ones cause I really like how it demonstrates what the film is going to be about. illustrating how this is a something to not look forward to a captures how the protagonist discovers the power and they have been granted but they’re meant for evil purposes I really love that how it aims to capture that and since Ellie movie plot overall I’m not sure yet.
Crayon, colors and fonts
Before I go into more of what mine is gonna involve I want to tell you about what I’ve seen from other dystopian-based movies. To cut the perfect islands like you really have to try and capture the right tone, mood, and style that reflects the dark and oppressive world within the story.
These movies I have already mentioned before and research based on their openings but I really want to tell you more about how I love the table and their use of font that really underline the story.
“The Hunger Games (2012)”
The font that they use in “The Hunger Games” movie is very bold, metallic, and slightly distressed. It gives a sense of strength and rebellion. A similar font would help convey that oppressive nature of the world and the protagonist struggling.
“Divergent (2014)”
The font being used in “divergent” is very sleek, modern and a little bit futuristic. It helps reflect on the advanced yet very controlled society that ”divergent” takes place in. With using this font it can really underline the elements and control of my story has, because I would really like keeping our society using the elements as well as I’m not really sure on whether or not I will want to use a futuristic way to emphasize like this is a futuristic world or do I want to keep things very present and make it more modern but this is just a great example for futuristic if I plan to go that route.
“Maze Runner (2014)”
The font is being used in “The Maze Runner” is very rugged and very worn like, it’s there to help represent the harsh and dangerous environment that it takes place in. So invoking a similar font for my movie it can help emphasize the struggle and maybe survival aspect that my movie will have to take place in.
Combining it all
To create a very compelling title and font for my movie I have to consider about all these elements from the given examples. The one thing that has stuck with me though is the bold and the distressed fonts that is shown in all of them, it’s very unique and very fitting for my dystopian story. However, until I get more detail on my movie plot I can’t quite decide on these fonts. This is will not be the only time I will cover titles I will make sure to take another look into this but it really help me to lay out my ideas a little bit more and just research other dystopian movies.
